Welcome to Pisgah Press

Pisgah Press was established in 2011 in Asheville, NC, as a regional publisher dedicated to the publication of quality books that offer original ideas and insight into the human condition and the world around us. Its authors are not limited to this region, however: they live in New York, Florida, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and even the Cayman Islands, as well as in various cities and towns around North Carolina.

We offer fiction and nonfiction as well as beautiful gift books of poetry, art, and photography – and the essential writer’s and editor’s reference guide, Reed’s Homophones, by publisher A. D. Reed.

We are proud to present books by Jan Atchley Bevan, Barry Burgess, Donna Lisle Burton, Michael Amos Cody, Reinhold C. Ferster, Robin Russell Gaiser, Joseph R. Haun, Chris Highland, Michael Hopping, C. Robert Jones, Martin Keeley, Al & Sunny Lockwood, Peter Loewer, Mort Malkin, Jeff Messer, Peter Olevnik, Patrick O’Sullivan, Dave Richards, Sarah-Ann Smith, Nan Socolow, and RF Wilson.

Book Reviews

“I’ve heard people say that, when they go into nature, they feel like they are at church. Chris Highland’s A Freethinker’s Gospel might be their hymnal.“ ~ Leigh Ann Henion, author of Phenomenal

“Robin Russell Gaiser is an amazing story-teller. Open for Lunch sings, wails, flails and perseveres with integrity. Thank you, thank you!”
~ The Rev. Dr. Margaret Ann Faeth, Episcopal

Gabriel’s Songbook is “a love song to music—creating it, performing it, and generally being passionate about it… Cody brings to life Gabriel’s passion for his art and his ambition to succeed in music, deftly portraying the anguish of unrealized dreams made even more bitter by regret.” ~ Tina Chambers, Chapter 16

“… gripping, poignant, and unforgettable.” ~ Jeff Mann, author of Country
